Character Bio:
(Beginnings, early career, training, etc.)
Jazmyn grew up in a childhood environment that wasn’t kind to her. Her parents got divorced at a young age and she’d be under split custody to both of her parents. She lived with her father during the summers, something she always looked forward to and has an extremely close bond with him to his day. Her mother, however, didn’t make too much of an effort to bond with her which affected her self-esteem and caused her to grow up with an outcasted social life. Her brains got her by through much of her childhood troubles and she ended up attending Florida State where she got a degree in clinical psychology but after bouncing from job to job in the field, Jazmyn reached a point in her life where, combined with her self-esteem issues, she felt like she was going nowhere in her life. This was until she attended a wrestling event and got captivated by what she saw that at the late-bloomer age of 25, she decided to become a professional wrestler!
Jazmyn would be trained by Myra Lynwood, who she developed a very close bond to and who became a mother figure in some ways despite being in the same age range. Just shy of 27, she wrestled in her first match beginning in 2011 but at first, nobody really saw much of anything in her. She was largely disregarded as a “late bloomer” who was going to be handicapped in her career due to her introverted nature and a late start to her career and who would be lucky to have a lasting career in the business. However, she became a two-time tag team champion, one of them with Myra, before she broke out into the singles ranks on her own, shocking the world when she became the Intercontinental Champion. In the next two years, Jazmyn became a rising star, but with rising star status came all the pressure and stress of being part of a worldwide phenomenon. The pressure, and a lack of a general support system due to her lifelong self-esteem problems, eventually broke her down. Jazmyn would develop a cocaine habit for a few months, unable to cope with all the stresses of her career and during this time, she burned all of her bridges and became a shell of her former self. Things hit rock bottom when she was arrested for drug possession on a traffic stop and was fired from her job.
Later that night, she was hospitalized due to a mental breakdown and was immediately sent to a rehab facility where she stayed under strict supervision for six months. Jazmyn made a recovery going into 2014 and began to train and work toward returning to the business. However, with the toxic reputation she developed, nobody would touch her or even give her a tryout. This didn’t stop her from working hard and trying to get back in the business and finally, in March 2015, Global Championship Wrestling would give her that chance.
(Global Championship Wrestling: 2015-2018)
She was clean and sober, but unfortunately, there was one HUGE problem. Her prior drug use caused some damage to her brain that would result in “Jekyll and Hyde” type mood swings. While beloved by the fans, stresses and triggers would cause her to lose control of herself at times, to the detriment of herself and sometimes even her friends. Still, she held her own in the ring, winning GCW’s International Championship and in November 2015, her first world championship: the GCW Global Championship. Jazmyn was a trying champion for four months despite her psychological concerns, but the pressures of having to represent the company would get to her at various points. Ultimately, four months later, at the company’s grandest stage, Resurrection, she would suffer the most humiliating, heartbreaking loss of her entire life when Trenton Snow, someone who had dominated her in matches past, had taken the title from her with assistance from Jefferson Bentley, a man she had loved at that point, and Myra, her own trainer who always overshadowed her in her career.
After another massive breakdown following that heartbreaking event, Jazmyn finally sought help for her issues and vowed to be better and overcome her demons. Jazmyn began to evolve for the better, getting her revenge on Bentley in a ring of fire match while feuding with Myra. Slowly, her mood swings started to fade and her true potential as a person and a wrestler began to come out of her in the summer of 2016. However, one last heartbreak, a loss to Myra in a Seven Stages of Hell match, would occur. This heartbreak drove her to cardiac arrest and a near death before her life was saved, resulting in a spiritual reawakening that helped her realize her own strengths and gave her something to fight for. Owing so much to GCW and the business for everything it’s done for her, Jazmyn became the “Guardian Angel” and became the protector of GCW’s sanctity, taking on evil after evil that came her way from Original Intent, who wanted to create a kingdom at GCW’s expense, to Sophie O’Brian who attempted to revert her to her former ways. Fittingly, in her first match as the "Guardian Angel", she would finally defeat Trenton Snow in a one on one match and things have taken off for her since then. Her self-esteem issues were a thing of the past and Jazmyn made it a mission not just to inspire others with her own story, but complete her redemption by regaining the Global Championship that was cruelly torn from her.
In 2017, Jazmyn overcame one of GCW’s biggest evils by leading a team to victory at Resurrection and causing the end of Myra Lynwood’s Utopia faction and a month later, she would finally overcome Myra herself to slay her career-long dragon by making her tap out in a Last Respects match. Jazmyn would eventually regain the Global Championship in an elimination chamber match, losing it three months later before regaining it a final time at Resurrection in May 2018. Jazmyn would reign as a 3-time Global Champion until she left in August due to not agreeing with the direction the company was going.
